Escape from the urban hustle and bustle to the Algarve countryside, to discover a less obvious aspect of the region. Not far from the town of Tavira, Pensão Agrícola has an atmosphere that is both rural and sophisticated that will certainly give you a welcome change of scene. Surrounding by orange, fig, olive and almond trees, this 1920s farm, long left abandoned, is today a haven of peace consisting only of six bedrooms. Three of them are situated inside the main building, but, for an even more remarkable experience, choose one of the ones situated inside the former stable, which has been fully renovated. Each of them has a private terrace and décor that is a mixture of Antiquity and retro in its inspiration.
Under the watchful eye of the donkey Ernesto (whom you can feed and brush, with the owners' permission), you enjoy breakfast near the lavender bushes. A few minutes by car - or on foot for the more energetic - are the beaches of Lacém and Caiana. You can even take with you a picnic basket put together by your hosts! For a cultural day out, go and discover the heritage of the east Algarve, Pensão Agrícola being situated midway between Tavira and the charming village of Cacela Velha. On your return, enjoy a massage or a dip in the pool (heated in winter) to relax you.
