Oxomoco, wood-fired Mexican everything

Oxomoco, wood-fired Mexican everything

Located in Greenpoint in the heart of Brooklyn, Oxomoco prepares all its dishes in a gigantic wood-fired oven to take you on a trip across various Mexican regions.

From tacos to burritos and enchiladas, one might be under the impression to have surveyed all of what Mexican gastronomy has to offer. And yet, these are nothing but the tip of the iceberg. Far from clichés, Oxomoco, unveils creative cuisine largely inspired by the specialities of Mexico's various regions. Most importantly, the restaurant makes great use of barbacoa, a Caribbean cooking technique at the origin of our modern barbecue, and which slowly grills meat and fish over wood fire. Here, almost anything makes a stop by the kitchen's wood-fired oven, all the way to the fruits used in cocktails – smoked peach Margarita is a must. In an Art Deco setting with beige tones that recall the Mexican Roaring Twenties, replete with hanging plants and retro futuristic lighting, Oxomoco (Aztec goddess of the night) offers great dinner atmosphere, and from now on a daily brunch.
