Jain Charity Birds Hospital, temple of flight

Visit a place unique in the world: the Jain Charity Birds Hospital, a hospital that heals the birds of Delhi!

In India, it is said that the soul of a bird is worth that of a king. Located in the Digambar complex, the Jain Charity Birds Hospital welcomes and cares for many birds saved by inhabitants of Delhi. Here, these birds, considered "noble", are pampered and venerated, while every day, a quarantine is conducted in this hospice of a somewhat particular kind. However different they may be, all birds are accepted: parakeets, chickens, pigeons, sparrows, parrots, falcons... In Delhi, men and women pay real attention to their well-being.
Built in 1956, the hospital has a capacity to hold 3,000 birds, which can stay for up to several months. Over the past 20 years, nearly 66,200 feathered patients have been put back on their feet (to take flight with their wings). If you wish to visit this absolutely unique place, you can attend the care and distribution of meals between 8:00 a.m. and 8 p.m.
