Contramar: an institution

Contramar: an institution

The place to go for lovers of fish and seafood.

Contramar, in the Roma district, is a veritable institution in Mexico City. Families come to feast on crab tacos, shellfish soups, and grilled fish. With its marine-motif murals and large open kitchen, the restaurant was famous before the area became fashionable in recent years.

Enjoy a pescado a la talla, the restaurant's speciality: fresh fish served whole, barely grilled and served with black beans and a homemade sauce. For dessert, indulge in coconut flan or fig tart. Please note the restaurant is only open for lunch, so you must reserve your table and allow about 30 minutes wait time.
